FUT have been on a steady rise throughout 2026, making their first Big Event playoff in their last outing at ESL Pro League Season 23. There, the young international side, with an average age of just over 19, fought all the way from Stage 1 of the Swedish event to fourth place, faltering to Astralis in the third-place decider. FUT kept up their momentum at PGL Bucharest 2026, looking to capitalize on the absence of heavyweights Vitality, MOUZ, FURIA, and Falcons. FUT made the most of their Bucharest run, marching the group stage with a clean 3-0 record, taking down PARIVISION along the way, before moving into the grand final with playoff victories over B8 and The MongolZ. Astralis managed to snag their first pistol win of the series to kick off the second half, but FUT got right back to winning ways once guns got in their hands, scooping up another 13-5 victory to go 2-0 up in the series. FUT clinched yet another pistol round to kick off Astralis's second map pick of Nuke, but Astralis were not keen to simply roll over this time around. Astralis managed to throw FUT's CT-side economy into dire straits early on, but Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen's men routinely faltered to weak buys, leaving them with a disappointing 4-8 half heading into the defense. Despite the numerous missed opportunities for Astralis in the first half, the team turned a new leaf on their own CT side. FUT snatched the pistol round to take a 10-4 lead, but Astralis put up a stalwart defense, only letting two more rounds, including an anti-eco, slip from their grasp as they forced overtime. An ace from HooXi defending against an A site pop put Astralis in the driver's seat during the extra rounds, allowing them to push ahead to a 16-14 scoreline and force Dust2. FUT were clearly unfazed by the manner in which they fumbled Nuke, as they quickly roared into the lead on their second pick of Dust2. Dmytro "⁠dem0n⁠" Myroshnychenko in particular stepped up for his team after the Nuke loss, posting a staggering 2.57 rating with a 25-6 K/D and +15.22% Swing, spearheading a straightforward 13-3 win for his team on Dust2.
